Jorge Cotte is a filmmaker and critic living in Chicago. He is a frequent contributor to The Nation's Books & the Arts section. His writing has also appeared in Los Angeles Review of Books. He is pursuing an MFA in Film & TV Directing at DePaul University.

His first short film Advance Copy is expected to premiere in Summer 2025. His follow up, Nervous Ravenous Hunger, is currently in post-production.

He is working on his thesis film, which tackles loss, faith, and witnessing in the rust and dust of the Midwest.
